Ordinary Bass Reflex Speakers
Many small speakers use a bass reflex
design with a port (opening) on the
front. However, the port is small, limiting
the bass. Lengthening the port increases
the bass, but also causes problems such
as bass lag and wind sound. SR-Bass (Swing Radiator) Speaker
Yamaha’s SR-Bass (Swing Radiator Bass™) speaker
uses a Swing Radiator speaker diaphragm for the
port. It moves by the vibration of the main
diaphragm and efficiently increases bass energy.
This produces larger sound pressure levels without
the problems of bass reflex designs.
