4 Connect one end of a power wire to the Switch’s -48V (input) pin and tighten the captive

screw.

5 Connect the other end of the power wire to the negative terminal on the power supply.
6 Insert the terminal block plug in the Switch’s terminal block header.

3.3.3 External Backup Power Supply Connector

The Switch supports external backup power supply (BPS).
The backup power supply constantly monitors the status of the internal power supply. The
backup power supply automatically provides power to the Switch in the event of a power
failure. Once the Switch receives power from the backup power supply, it will not
automatically switch back to using the internal power supply even when the power is resumed.

3.3.4 Powering on the Switch

1 Turn on the power supply first.
2 Move the Switch power switch to the ON position.

The following table describes the LEDs.

Blinking

The Switch is transmitting/receiving to/from a 10 Mbps Ethernet

network.

On

The link to a 10 Mbps Ethernet network is up.

Amber

Blinking

The Switch is transmitting/receiving to/from a 100 Mbps Ethernet

network.

On

The link to a 100 Mbps Ethernet network is up.

Off

The link to an Ethernet network is down.

FDX

Amber

On

The port is negotiating in full-duplex mode.
