Connections
Refer to page 2 for system connections.
Rear Panel (right cabinet) (Refer to page 3)
1 INPUT 1 and 2: These are 3.5 mm jack connections for inputting
signals to the YST-M5s. Using these two inputs will mix two input
signals.
For example, you may connect your CD-ROM player and personal
computer to these input terminals.
2 TO LEFT SPEAKER: This should be connected to the TO
RIGHT SPEAKER connection on the left-channel cabinet using
the supplied 3.5 mm stereo mini plug cable.
3 OUTPUT (ADJ. VOL): This 3.5 mm stereo jack outputs the input
signal after the VOLUME control.
4 DC 9V: Connect the supplied AC-DC adaptor to this connection.
Rear Panel (left cabinet)
5 TO RIGHT SPEAKER: This should be connected to the TO
LEFT SPEAKER connection on the right cabinet using the
supplied 3.5 mm stereo mini plug cable.
Controls
Front Panel (right cabinet) (Refer to page 3)
6 POWER Switch and Indicator: Press to power on the YST-M5s;
the power indicate will light up. Press again to power off. Before
powering on and off, turn down the VOLUME control.
7 PRESENCE control: This control allows frequency boost and cut
of up to
±
7 dB at 10 kHz. This tends to emphasize vocals,
providing a warmer intimate sound. Turn it clockwise to boost, and
counterclockwise to cut.
8 VOLUME control: Use this control to set the volume level. Turn it
clockwise to increase the volume, and counterclockwise to reduce it.

Cabinet Legs
The legs supplied with the YST-M5s should be
stuck onto the bottom of each speaker cabinet as
shown. As well as preventing the YST-M5s from
slipping around, these legs also isolate the
cabinet from the mounting surface.
