(EN) ENGLISH

Lamp with two light sources: one high-output white LED and one red LED.

Lighting selection

To change between white and red lighting, light the lamp and then hold down

the switch.

Your lamp stays in the lighting mode that was in use when the lamp was

turned off. When you turn on the lamp again, it will light in the last color

selected before turning it off.

White lighting

Two brightness levels (Maximum, Economy), plus a flashing mode.

One click of the switch lights the lamp in the maximum brightness level.

Two rapid clicks light the lamp in the economy level.

Three rapid clicks light the lamp in the flashing mode.

One click turns the lamp off (after the lamp has been lit for at least

two seconds).

Sliding wide angle lens

Leave the wide angle lens open for a focused, long-distance beam.

Close the sliding wide angle lens for a flood beam.

Red lighting

Only one brightness level plus a flashing mode.

One click of the switch lights the lamp (constant red light).

Two rapid clicks light the lamp in the flashing mode.

One click turns the lamp off (after the lamp has been lit for at least

two seconds).

When you are in the constant red light mode, we recommend not using the

wide angle lens.

Energy

Use alkaline batteries or NiMH rechargeable batteries. You can also use

lithium batteries for a longer battery life in cold temperatures.

When the red battery discharge indicator comes on, 50 % of the original

battery life remains for proximity lighting.

Electromagnetic compatibility

Conforms to the requirements of the 89/336/CEE directive on electromagnetic

compatibility.

Warning, when your lamp is lit and in close proximity to an avalanche beacon

in receive (find) mode, it can interfere with the operation of the beacon. In

case of interference (indicated by static noise from the beacon), move the

beacon away from the lamp until the noise stops, or switch off the lamp.

In case of malfunction

Do not attempt to dismantle the lamp. LEDs have a lifetime of many tens of

thousands of hours. Dismantling the lamp voids the guarantee.

Verify that the batteries are good, and that they are properly installed with

respect to their polarity. Follow the order indicated on the battery case. Inspect

the contacts for corrosion. If corroded, gently scrape the contacts clean

without deforming them. If your lamp still does not work, contact PETZL.

Maintenance

After use in a wet environment, remove the batteries and dry the lamp. If

sea-water gets inside, remove the batteries, rinse the lamp thoroughly in fresh

water and dry it.

If the Wide Angle lens is jammed (e.g. due to sand), rinse the lamp with fresh

water.

Cleaning

Use optical wipes or hand-wash the lamp in lukewarm soapy water. Do not

wipe with an abrasive product. Take care to avoid scratching the lens. Do not

wash with a high pressure cleaner. Remove the elastics from the lamp before

washing them.

Storage, transport

Remove the batteries from the lamp for prolonged storage. During storage

and transport of your product, keep it away from exposure to UV, moisture,

chemical products, etc.

Modification, repair

Any modification, addition to, or repair of the equipment other than that

authorized by Petzl is prohibited due to the risk of reducing the effectiveness

of the equipment.

General information on batteries

WARNING DANGER, risk of explosion and burns.

- The batteries must be inserted correctly with respect to polarity by following

the diagram on the battery case.

If one battery is reversed (two + poles or two - poles in contact with each

other), a chemical reaction is produced in minutes that releases explosive

gasses and extremely corrosive liquid.

Indicator: a weak level of light with new batteries indicates that the polarity of

one or more batteries is reversed.

In case of doubt, turn off the lamp immediately and verify the polarity.

Protect your eyes in case leakage has already occurred. Cover the battery case

with a rag before opening it to avoid contact with any discharge.

In case of contact with liquid from the batteries, rinse affected area

immediately with clear water and get immediate medical attention.

- Do not mix brands of batteries.

- Do not mix new and used batteries.

- Remove the batteries from the lamp for prolonged storage.

- Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries.

- Do not short-circuit the batteries as this can cause burns.

- Do not attempt to open or dismantle batteries.

- Do not put used batteries in a fire.

- Keep batteries out of reach of children.

Protecting the environment

Lamps, bulbs, and batteries should be recycled. Do not throw them in the

regular trash. Dispose of these items by recycling them in accordance with

applicable local regulations. By doing so you play a part in protecting the

environment and public health.

The PETZL guarantee

This lamp is guaranteed for 3 years against any defects in materials or

manufacture. Exclusions from the guarantee: normal wear and tear, oxidation,

modifications or alterations, incorrect storage, damage caused by accidents,

by negligence, by leaking batteries or by use for which this product is not

intended.

Responsibility

PETZL is not responsible for the consequences, direct, indirect or accidental,

or any other type of damage befalling or resulting from the use of its products.

Lighting distance

Petzl based all measurements around a value of 0.25 lux. This value is

comparable to the light of a full moon on a clear night.

Light duration

Petzl stops measuring the duration when the light output falls below 0.25 lux

at a distance of 2 m, because we consider the lamp to be unusable below

this level.

Light quantity: lumen (luminous flux)

The measure of luminous flux indicates the total quantity of light emitted in

all directions.

This measurement is complementary to the lighting distance. In effect,

different lighting sources can shine the same distance with different

intensities.
