SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS!

WARNING! The high pressure exerted by the cutter may cause the cut section
of the pipe to fl y with considerable force. This can result in serious eye or body
injuries.
• Wear safety glasses or goggles.
• Avoid standing close to either end of the pipe.
• Be sure no other personnel are in the immediate area before applying

cutting pressure.

• Do not exceed recommended cutting capcities for sizes and types of

pipe.

Inspect chain for damaged wheels, links or pins. DO NOT use the tool if the
chain or any other part of the tool is broken or damaged.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

IMPORTANT: If ratcheting action stops before pipe is severed, you have
jammed the cutter. DO NOT force the handle or adjusting knob, simply lift and
turn ratchet knob so that arrow points AWAY from red handle (see Fig. 2).
Use a pumping action in direction indicated by arrow to release the chain
— Reset cutter using proper chain pin in hook.

To Set Cutter
1. Lift and turn ratchet knob to neutral position (pin not in groove).
2. Turn adjusting knob until the edge of the outer side arm lines up with the

mark for the size pipe to be cut. The graduation marks are on the inner
side arm.

3. When working conditions permit, place cutter on pipe with adjusting knob

to the right, while straddling the long end of the pipe.

To Adjust Chain
4. After cutter is properly set, wrap chain around pipe snugly. Set proper

chain pin into hooks. Turn adjusting knob counterclockwise until chain is
tight.

5. Turn ratchet knob so that arrow points to red handle. (See Fig. 1). Chain

must be properly set to assure ample travel for cutting action.

To Cut Pipe
6. Use ratcheting motion in direction indicated by arrow on ratchet knob,

until pipe is severed.

To Lubricate Cutter
7. Lift and turn ratchet knob to neutral position (See Step 1).
8. Turn adjusting knob clockwise until side arms are fully closed.
9. Lubricate fi tting in adjusting knob. Use a good grade of cup grease.

Lubricate until grease appears at the seals.

10. Occasional application of oil to pins and cutting wheels will assure contin-

ued freedom of action.
