❒ fit the handle H fig. 99 to operate the jack device I
fig. 99 and raise the car until the wheel is a few
centimetres from the ground. When turning
the jack handle make sure that it can turn freely
without scraping your hand against the ground.
The moving components of the jack (screws and
joints) can also cause injuries: avoid touching them.
If you become soiled with the lubricating grease,
wash it off thoroughly;
❒ make sure the contact surfaces between
space-saver wheel and hub are clean so that the
fastening bolts will not come loose;
❒ fit the space-saver wheel making pin N fig. 100
coincide with one of the wheel holes O fig. 100;
❒ fasten the four fastening bolts;
❒ turn the jack handle to lower the car and remove
the jack;
❒ fasten the bolts completely, working in a
criss-cross fashion as shown in fig. 101.
