UltraAV HDMI 4-8 Audio/Video Switch

IMPORTANT READ ME FIRST – INSTRUCTION MANUAL

Thank you for purchasing the UltraAV

HDMI 4-8 Audio/Video Switch. This HDMI switch is designed to select and transmit

an audio and video signal from 1 of up to 4 HDMI audio/video devices. It will mirror the audio and video signal on up to 8

displays or projectors at once. For use with a DVI device, use an optional HDMI to DVI adapter or HDMI to DVI cable.

Features:

• Supported Resolutions: 480i, 480p, 720p, 720i,
and 1080i, 1080p (1920 x 1200 computer resolution)

• Built-in signal booster (see Built-in Booster below)

• Supports HDCP compliant devices

• Smart technology, switches to active source

Infrared Extender: In order to operate the HDMI switch with the remote control, the front of the switch must be in the

line-of-sight to the remote control. If the switch is placed out-of-sight then the IR extender should be used. The remote
control can communicate with the switch through the IR extender. Plug the IR extender into the port labeled “Remote CNTL”

on the rear of the switch and place the end of the IR extender in a visible location to the remote control.

Built-in Booster: The UltraAV HDMI 4-8 Switch has a built-in signal repeater that supports up to a 82’ (25m) cable length

between each audio/video source and the switch and 16’ (5m) between the switch and each video display.

Smart Technology: The Accell 4-8 switch features smart auto-switching technology. If only 1 video source is turned on
(active) the switch will automatically switch to that active video source. In addition, if an active video source on CH4 is

powered off, for example, the switch will look for an active source to switch to starting with CH1 first, CH2 second, CH3 third

and CH4 lastly. The switch will prioritize each of the inputs based on the channel order, starting with CH1.

How to Connect the HDMI Switch (please follow the steps in the order described):

Step 1: Insert the included power adapter into the power jack labeled “DC Input 5.3V” located on the rear of the HDMI
switch. Plug the adapter into an active power outlet. Turn the Main Power on the rear of the switch to the on position. The

vertical line (l) is the On position and Off position is the circle (O).

Step 2: Connect the HDMI cables from each of the A/V sources into the inputs labeled “CH1”,“CH2”,“CH3” and “CH4”

located on the rear of the HDMI switch. Note: The switch will default to CH1 first, CH2 second, CH3 third and CH4 lastly.
Plug the A/V sources into the switch in the order they are used most often starting with CH1. The switch will prioritize each

of the inputs based on the channel order giving you greater control. See Smart Technology above.

Step 3: Connect the HDMI cables from each of the displays into the “HDMI Out” ports on the rear of the switch.
Step 4: Turn “On” the power of each of the A/V sources and each of the displays.

Step 5: If locating the switch in an out-of-sight location, use the IR extender. See Infrared Extender above.

Inserting the Battery Into the Remote Control:

A 3V “coin” battery is included inside the remote control. To activate the battery, remove the clear plastic strip protruding

from the bottom of the remote. The remote control is ready for use. To replace the battery, remove the battery holder

located on the lower rear of the remote control. While pushing the slotted tab inwards pull the battery holder out. Put in a
new battery and reinsert the battery holder into the remote control.

How to Operate the HDMI Switch:
1.
Push the On or Off button on the remote control to turn the switch on or off (standby mode). Alternatively the

Standby/On button on the front of the switch can be used. Standby is a power saving mode, however when in standby

mode the switch is not off. It is alert and still able to respond to the remote controls On button. The illumined Green LED

indicates the switch is on. The Illuminated Red LED indicates the switch is in standby mode.
2. The Main Power switch located on the rear of the HDMI switch cuts off all power leading into the HDMI switch. The

Main Power is not controlled by the remote control and must be operated manually.

3. Use the remote control to toggle between video sources. Pressing the numbers 1, 2, 3 or 4 will switch directly to the
selected video source. The Select button will switch between the active video sources in sequential order.

4.

Alternatively, use the “Select” push button on the HDMI switch between the active video sources in sequential order.

Mini USB Port – Firmware Update:
On the rear of the switch there is a Mini-USB port. This port is used to access and update the switch’s firmware using a PC.

If the switch is not operating properly, a firmware update may be available at www.accellcables.com/support. If the switch

is operating properly, do not update the firmware. A firmware update will not further improve the performance of the switch.
