Bosch Power Tools

Mounting the Saw Blade (see figure A)
For changing the cutting tool, it is best to place
the machine on the face side of the motor hous-
ing.
– Clean the saw blade 21 and all clamping

parts to be assembled.

– Tilt back the retracting blade guard 12 and

hold firmly.

– Place the saw blade 21 on to the mounting

flange 22. The cutting direction of the teeth
(direction or arrow on saw blade) and the di-
rection-of-rotation arrow on the blade guard
17 must correspond.

– Mount the clamping flange 20 and screw in

the clamping bolt 19 turning in rotation di-
rection o. Observe correct mounting posi-
tion of mounting flange 22 and clamping
flange 20.

– Press the spindle lock button 4 and keep it

pressed.

– With the Allen key 6, tighten the clamping

bolt 19 turning in rotation direction o. The
tightening torque is between 6–9 Nm, which
corresponds to hand tight plus ¼ turn.

Adjusting the Riving Knife

(see figure B–C)

f

Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the mains plug.

f

Always work with the riving knife, except
when carrying out plunge cuts.
The riving
knife prevents jamming of the saw blade
while sawing.

Adjustment is carried out at minimal cutting
depth, see “Adjusting the Cutting Depth”,
page 25.
It is best to place the machine on the face side
of the blade guard 17.
Loosen the clamping lever 25, pull the saw away
from the base plate 14 and then tighten the
clamping lever 25 again.
Loosen screw 24, adjust the riving knife 13 to
the measure shown in the figure and tighten
screw 24 with a tightening torque between
8–9 Nm.

Disassembly/Assembly of the Riving Knife
For disassembly of the riving knife 13, loosen
screw 24 and remove the riving knife 13.
For assembly, insert the riving knife 13 and
tighten it with the screw 24. Afterwards, check
the adjustment of the riving knife as described
previously.

Dust/Chip Extraction

f

Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the mains plug.

f

Dusts from materials such as lead-containing
coatings, some wood types, minerals and
metal can be harmful to one’s health. Touch-
ing or breathing-in the dusts can cause aller-
gic reactions and/or lead to respiratory infec-
tions of the user or bystanders.
Certain dusts, such as oak or beech dust, are
considered as carcinogenic, especially in
connection with wood-treatment additives
(chromate, wood preservative). Materials
containing asbestos may only be worked by
specialists.
– Use dust extraction whenever possible.
– Provide for good ventilation of the work-

ing place.

– It is recommended to wear a P2 filter-

class respirator.

Observe the relevant regulations in your
country for the materials to be worked.

Mounting the Extraction Adapter
(see figure F)
Attach the extraction adapter 28 onto the saw-
dust ejector 16 until it latches. A vacuum hose
with a diameter of 35 mm can be connected to
the extraction adapter 28.
f

The extraction adapter may not be mounted
when no external dust extraction is con-
nected.
Otherwise the extraction channel
can become clogged.

f

Do not connect a dust bag to the extraction
adapter.
Otherwise the extraction system
can become clogged.

To ensure optimum extraction, the extraction
adapter 28 must be cleaned regularly.
