Assembly Instructions for Dana’s OnDemand™ Design Lube Pump
Model: All D170, 190 and D40K Models Built after 6.16.08
Shown below are basic assembly instructions for OnDemand™ design lube pump and related side gear
components for the models listed above. Additional assembly and disassembly related procedures are shown in
more detail in the Dana service manual axsm-0057 publication located on www.spicerparts.com
LUBE PUMP REASSEMBLY:
1. Install the lube pump into the output side gear so that the pump shaft is pointed upward, in the same
direction as the teeth end of the side gear.
2. Install the pump locking dowel pin into the hole in the output side gear hub. Make sure the pin is lined up
with the machined slot in the pump body.
3. Install the output shaft side gear bearing cone and press until fully seated. { Use proper press tools }

Install lube pump into the side gear
with the pump shaft facing outward!
