PART NUMBER INFORMATION

The purpose of this bulletin is to notify you of a Dana plant closure, and to provide information
regarding the impact the closure will have on our customers, and the products manufactured at
this location. The Dana facility in Barrie, Ontario, Canada has manufactured axle housings for
more than 25 years. This facility will be closing before the end of this year.
BARRIE PLANT PRODUCT STATUS GOING FORWARD
All products/parts manufactured at this location have been assigned a “Parts Group” code.
Below are the details for each Parts Group.
PARTS GROUP-A
A majority of these parts had little or no service sales volumes in the past several years. Parts
coded as Group “A” will be discontinued. Some stock still exists on these parts and will be
available for purchase until inventory levels reach zero. Customers should call for availability on
these parts prior to ordering.
PARTS GROUP-B
This group contains replacement housings that have been identified and are in the process of
being released. The new part numbers are compatible replacements for original production
product and will have no impact on fit-up (*Refer to Axle Housings w/Bracket information). The
original production part numbers in the group will also be discontinued when stock is
exhausted, at which time the discontinued number will be superseded to the replacement
housing as noted in the attached chart. Customers should call for availability on these.
PARTS GROUP-C
Parts coded as Group “C” are housings that are no longer available (NLA). Refer to the
replacement notes for alternate housing solutions.
PARTS GROUP-D
Parts coded as Group “D” include recently released parts as well as parts that have no change
in status.
AXLE HOUSINGS w/ BRACKETS: Several original axle housings include welded hanger and
torque rod brackets. Going forward, many of these housing will only be available as “bare”
(without the welded hanger and torque rod brackets) housings. Some of the original housing
brackets will be available for individual purchase until stock is depleted or the part is obsolete.
Customers should call for availability on these parts prior to ordering.
