TIMS Product Update Notice and Guidelines for Installing New Controller Assembly

Affected Models: Tire Inflation and Monitor System (TIMS) for trailers

Dana has released a new Pneumatic Control Unit (PCU) 676467 and associated controller assembly 676651
for TIMS. The new PCU features 3/8 NTA push to connect fittings for ease of installation, as well as over-
molded solenoids, plastic body construction, and a cover for improved environmental protection. These new
parts replace the previous PCU 676403 and controller assembly 676632 for all production and service
requirements.

Note:

When using the PCU 676467 as a service replacement for PCU 676403 (or prior), it will require a new

mounting bracket P/N 676644 and associated fasteners.

Important!

Be sure to orient controller assembly with the mounting flange on the bottom (pressure sensor
connector facing up).

Installation Procedure:

Orient controller assembly with the mounting bracket flange on the bottom (pressure sensor
connector facing up). See figure 1.

Plug the wire harness into the Electronic Control Unit (ECU), and ensure complete engagement of
connector lock tabs.

Remove the PCU cover, discard rubber band holding it in place, and plug the wire harness into the
pressure sensor.

Replace the PCU cover, ensuring the pressure sensor cable is routed through slot in cover. Plug the
wire harness into the PCU solenoid connector. Note: the wire harness connector holds the cover in
place.

Insert both wire harness strain reliefs into the slots on the controller assembly bracket. (see dwg)

Install pneumatic plumbing as required.
