Component Repair Procedure

Pneumatic Control Unit - Pressure Transducer Replacement Kit 673424

The following procedures describe the necessary work required for removal and replacement of the Dana Tire Pressure
Control System Pneumatic Control Unit (PCU) pressure transducer. Work can be conducted with pneumatic control
unit installed in vehicle if accessible. lf removal of unit is required, follow removal procedures in Dana TPCS Service
Manual (AXSM-0010).

1.

If pneumatic control unit is installed in vehicle, remove 10 wire and 3 wire electrical connectors from unit.

2.

Remove 6 solenoid cover screws (3c) and 4 trailer module solenoid cover screws (7c).

3.

Lift solenoid cover and trailer module cover together to clear solenoids.

4.

Remove 3 wire electrical connector from pressure transducer. Inspect condition of three wires (A, B, and C)
and verify pins are firmly secured in solenoid cover. The new pressure transducer is supplied with a new
electrical connector. If no concerns are noted with the existing connector, it need not be replaced. If replacement
is required, use small screwdriver or object such as paper clip to push on tab within electrical pin while pulling
on wire. See detail on reverse side. Install new wires per schematic shown.

5.

Remove existing pressure transducer.

6.

Apply thread sealant on threads of new transducer and install into pneumatic control unit.

7.

Insert 3 wire electrical connector into transducer.

8.

Carefully tuck solenoid wires in area between transducer and solenoids while reinstalling the solenoid covers.
Note: lt is necessary to install both covers at the same time.

9.

Carefully tighten cover screws ensuring that wires are not pinched between cover and body. Torque spec = 40
to 50 in-lb.

10.

Reinstall pneumatic control unit in vehicle or reinstall electrical connectors to solenoid cover if unit is already
in vehicle.

11.

Conduct system checkout to verify integrity of repairs.
