6. Operation
 Open the plastic cover and place the scale on a flat, steady

vibration-free surface and.

 Press the On/Off button [F] to switch on the scale. After

initialization, the LCD display [D] shows the stable measurement
indication [A] and the zero weight indication [B].

 Select the desired weighing unit (gram, carat, pennyweight or

grains) by pressing on the mode button [G]. The selected unit is
shown on the display [C].

 Place the weight on the balance as close to the centre as possible.

Wait until the measurement is stabilized ([A]), and read the
weight on the display.

 When tare needs to be subtracted, place the tare weight on the

scale and wait until the measurement is stabilized. Press the tare

button [E] to reset the scale to zero; the word ‘ZERO’ [B] is
indicated on the display.

 Note that the scale has an auto-power off function. The scale will

switch off after ±60 seconds when no activity is detected.

 To calibrate the scale, a weight of exactly 500g (or 2500 carat,

321.5075 pennyweight) is needed.

 Press and hold the mode button [G] until the word ‘CAL’ flashes.

Put down the calibration weight and wait until the word ‘PASS’
appears. The scale is now calibrated. Remove the weight

7. Batteries
 Slide the battery cover at the back of the scale open.

 Insert 2 new type AAA (LR03C) batteries with polarity as indicated

inside the battery casing.

 Close the battery compartment.

 Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries and do not

throw batteries in fire as they might explode.
