3. General

Guidelines

• This kit is designed for use on stage, in discos, theatres, at home, etc. The VDLPROM9 should

only be used indoors and connected to an alternating current of 230 VAC/50 Hz.

• Lighting effects are not designed for permanent operation: regular operation breaks will prolong

their lives.

• Do not shake a device. Avoid brute force when installing or operating the device.

• Select a location where the device is protected against extreme heat (see “Technical

Specifications”), dust and moisture. Respect a minimum distance of 0.5 m between the device’s

light output and any illuminated surface.

• Use an appropriate safety cable to fix the PAR light (e.g. VDLSC7 or VDLSC8). The mirror ball

should be secured with a safety net.

• Familiarise yourself with the functions of the device before actually using it. Do not allow

operation by unqualified people. Any damage that may occur will most probably be due to
unprofessional use of the device.

• Use the original packaging if the device is to be transported.

• All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons.

• Only use the device for its intended purpose. All other uses may lead to short circuits, burns,

electroshocks, crash, etc. Using the device in an unauthorised way will void the warranty.

4. Installation

a) Installing or Replacing a Bulb

• Only fit or replace a lamp when the device is unplugged from the mains.

operation.

• When handling a halogen lamp, do not touch it with your bare hands. Use a cloth to insert or

remove it.

• Do not install lamps with a higher wattage than what this device was designed for.

• Replace any deformed or damaged lamp with a lamp of the same type (see “Technical

Specifications”):

1. Unscrew the front ring holding the bulb into place.

3. Fasten the wires of the new bulb and insert the bulb into the light. Add a colour filter if

• Let a lamp cool down before replacing the filter as the temperature of a lamp can reach 150°C

during operation.

2. Remove the old filter and insert a new one.
3. Fasten the fixation ring.

c) Mounting the PAR36 Light

norms.

• The PAR36 light can be placed on the floor or on a table using the round surface plate. It can also

be mounted on the ceiling using the bracket.

• The carrying construction must be able to support 10 times the weight of the device for 1 hour

without deforming.

• The installation must always be secured with a secondary attachment e.g. a safety cable.
