JEEP JK FRONT LOWER CONTROL ARM SKID PLATE
Thank you for choosing Rough Country for your suspension needs.
Rough Country recommends a certified technician install this system. In addition to these instructions, professional
knowledge of disassemble/reassembly procedures as well as post installation checks must be known. Attempts to install
this system without this knowledge and expertise may jeopardize the integrity and/or operating safety of the vehicle.
Please read instructions before beginning installation. Check the kit hardware against the parts list. Be sure you have all
needed parts and know where they go. Also please review tools needed list and make sure you have needed tools.
PRODUCT USE INFORMATION
As a general rule, the taller a vehicle is, the easier it will roll. Seat belts and shoulder harnesses should be worn at all
times. Avoid situations where a side rollover may occur.
Generally, braking performance and capability are decreased when larger/heavier tires and wheels are used. Take this
into consideration while driving. Do not add, alter, or fabricate any factory or after-market parts to increase vehicle height
over the intended height of the Rough Country product purchased. Mixing component brands is not recommended.

This JK front lower control arm skid plate is designed to work with any JK with stock suspension, a short arm lift kit, or a
Rough Country long-arm lift kit. This is a weld on skid that helps protect the control arm and adds strength to the control
arm pocket. With this skid you can still use the factory cam bolts.
Install Instructions
1. Mark the cam bolt and remove the passenger side cam bolts holding the lower control arm to the axle.
2. Use a grinder to remove the paint on the edge of the control arm pockets. Hold the skid up to the lower control arm
pocket to make sure enough paint is ground off. See Photo 1.
3. Hold the skid firmly against the control arm pocket and tact in place with a welder. Weld each side of the skid holding
it in place. See Photo 2.
4. Grind any burs off the weld and paint the welded skid to prevent rust.
5. Bolt the lower control arm back in place and align the mark on your cam bolt.
6. Repeat on driver side.
7. A front end alignment may be required after the control arm skid plates are installed.
