CAUTION! Read this before installing these products! WARNING! The

installation of these products will lower your motorcycle approximately 1.5

inches. This places the motorcycles chassis, floorboards, exhaust and other

equipment approximately 1.5 inches closer to the ground. It is crucial to

understand that these items as well as similar equipment will more readily

contact the surface of the road when cornering AT ANY SPEED. Should this

contact occur, the result could be loss of vehicle control or damage to

equipment. We do not recommend a lowered motorcycle be ridden with a

passenger! It is critical that the rider of a motorcycle equipped with lowering

products be aware of the reduction in maneuverability caused by the

installation of such products. Baron Custom Accessories accepts no liability

whatsoever for injury or damage resulting from the installation of these

products.

Revision: 1.2 - 02/22/2010

INCLUDED IN THE KIT:

(1) - VS 650 Shock Eye

TOOLS REQUIRED:

Spring Compressor

Hydraulic Press

Soft "V" Blocks (to hold shock shaft)

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Secure the motorcycle to your work table.

2. Remove stock rear shock from the motorcycle per standard Yamaha shop manual instructions.

3. Using a spring compression tool, compress the spring toward the shock body until the spring retaining clip is
loose and can be removed.

4. Place the shaft of the shock in V" blocks and secure this in a vice or press, applying firm pressure to the
V" blocks to trap the shaft so it will not turn. Unscrew the upper shock mount eyelet from the shaft. NOTE:
The upper mount is a standard thread so you will rotate the mount counter-clockwise to unscrew it.

5. Using RED Loctite (or similar thread-locking compound) on the shock shaft threads, screw the Baron Upper
Shock Mount onto shock shaft.

6. Re-install shock spring, making sure it is locked in place with the retaining ring prior to slowing releasing the
spring compressor. Allow shock spring to expand against the retaining ring and machined washer.

7. Reinstall shock onto the motorcycle per standard Yamaha shop manual instructions. Your installation is now
complete. You will find your swingarm sits higher into the fender and that your V-Star is approximately 1-1/2
inches lower through the use of our Baron Lowering Kit.

Our install guides provide a basic outline on the proper installation of our products. Further tuning and/or

fitment may be required. Barons bears no responsibility on installation costs associated with this product.
