V-Star 250 Engine Guard
Caution: To avoid possible injury or damage to your motorcycle, be sure you
read and understand the directions before attempting this installation.

INCLUDED IN THE KIT:
(1) M8 x 160mm Hex Head Bolt
(3) M6 x 16mm Hex Head Bolt
(3) M6 Flat Washer
(2) M6-1.0 Nut
(1) Engine Guard
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. The motorcycle needs to be stabilized in the up right position with an additional jack under the front of the
motor for support.
2. Remove the horn and tuck it back behind its mounting bracket.
3. Remove the stock acorn nuts on the brake side foot control to help maneuver the new engine guard into
place.
4. Make sure the engine is supported as stated in step 1. and remove the 8mm lower engine mount bolt.
5. Slide the engine guard into place, rolling it from bottom to top. Place the horn in through the slot in the top
mounting bracket and screw in one of the 6mm hex bolts loosely.
6. Fit guard up to frame rails and install the supplied 8mm bolt and stock flange nut. We recommend using a
dab of medium thread locker on all bolts for added strength.
7. Now install the remaining (2) 6mm bolts with (2) 6mm washers and (2) 6mm nuts. Again we suggest
medium thread locker. Also make sure you finish tightening the bolt mounting the horn.
8. Re-install the brake side foot control at this time.
9. Double check all hardware has been tightened securely, brake pedal moves freely, and remove motorcycle
from jacks.
*Re-tighten all hardware after riding 50-100 miles and periodically thereafter
