ENGINE GUARD - Yamaha Road/Stratoliner and Raider
We recommend you read all instructions fully before starting. Use Loctite®
on all threaded hardware. Cover your front fender to protect it from damage
prior to installing Engine Guard.

Install Time: 20 to 30 minutes
INCLUDED IN THE KIT:
(2) 3/8-16 x 2.25" Socket Head Bolt Chrome
(2) 3/8" Lock Washer
(1) Half-Moon Mounting Flange
(1) Engine Guard
TOOLS REQUIRED:
Assorted Metric and SAE Wrenches & Sockets
INSTRUCTIONS:
NOTE: For an easier install we recommend two people perform this installation.
1. Locate the "C" channel bracket at the front of the down tubes covering the lower engine mounts. Remove the
two M5 allen bolts and the "C" channel from the bike.
2. Clean out the threads in the frame, removing the thread locking material, so the bolts will thread more easily.
3. Place the Engine Guard in position and align the lower mount holes with the ones you just cleaned out.
Reinstall the "C" channel and bolt back in place. We recommend you use Loctite® on these threads. Snug these
bolts up, but do not tighten at this time.
4. Align the upper mount and the half-moon mount flange, insert the chrome lock washer on the 3/8-16 x 2.25"
chrome socket head bolts, insert the bolts through the frame and thread them through the half-moon flange
into the nuts welded to the back of the flange, but do not tighten at this time.
5. Adjust and align the Engine Guard, tighten the upper mount hardware and then tighten the lower.
RECOMMEND: Re-tighten all hardware after 100 miles of riding.
