FRONT PULLEY - Yamaha Road Star (99-10)

CAUTION! We Strongly recommend that a qualified technician install this kit

if you do not completely understand the instructions prior to the install.

Install Time: 60 Minutes

INCLUDED IN THE KIT:

(1) Baron Steel Pulley (Single Flange)

(1) Yamaha OEM Lock-Tab Washer

TOOLS REQUIRED:

3, 4 & 5mm Allen Wrenches

32mm Socket

Pliers (Std. & Needle-nose)

10 & 12mm Sockets

Phillips & Flat Screwdrivers

Factory Service Manual

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Place the motorcycle on a suitable stand to safely support it while you perform the installation.

2. Remove stock drive pulley cover bracket and drive pulley cover per Yamaha service manual procedures.
Flatten lock tab on stock pulley nut. Loosen pulley nut.

NOTE: When loosening the drive pulley nut, press down on the brake pedal to prevent the pulley from turning.

3. Loosen the rear axle and slide rear wheel forward to allow enough slack in the belt for easier pulley removal.
Remove stock drive pulley.

4. Install new pulley with flanged side out, along with new lock-tab washer (supplied) and stock pulley nut. The
stock pulley nut is 2-sided. One side is flat. Make sure the flat side is flush with the pulley surface before
tightening. Tighten pulley nut to 61 ft-lbs.

5. Adjust drive belt and tighten rear axle per Yamaha service manual procedures.

6. Reinstall stock drive pulley cover and drive pulley cover bracket per Yamaha service manual procedures.

IMPORTANT: Be sure to re-check the pulley nut torque after 100 miles.
