will prevent anything from touching the paint and potentially damaging it. It is important to know and understand that
the factory grille will be altered in order to receive this new grille. Because of this the grille can be removed from the
front of the Camaro, eliminating the need to take the front of the car apart. The first step will be to carefully snip the
center sections of the grille using a pair of wire cutters. Snip the vertical and horizontal bars from the surrounding
frame. Do this in such a way as to not damage or disfigure the surrounding plastic frame. This is actually very easy to
do with just a little attention as you approach each of the bars. Meaning just doesn’t go and brutally cut and snare the
bars off the frame but carefully and closely sever each bar as neatly and precisely as possible. This will insure a nice
installation. Once you have cut all the slats from the frame remove the entire center section from the factory frame.

1. Now that the center section is removed you will be able to push the frame into the car towards the radiator. You

will notice that the grille is held in place with several flat tabs that have been snapped through the factory grille
holding its position. Simply push with some force all the way around its perimeter until the entire grille has
been released. During this process you will notice that there will be two tabs protruding from the grille frame
towards the back directly into the steel bumper rail. These two tabs will need to be pulled forward in order to
release them. Once this is done remove the entire frame from the car.

2. Now that you have the grille frame free from the car you will need to prepare it to receive the new shark tooth

center section and the four, flat black, peel and stick frame covers. The first step will be to finish the front of the
grille to receive the four flat plates that have been designed to cover the areas of the factory grille that where
cut. Upon close examination you will notice that each of the slats that where cut away have left a small bit of the
slat protruding from the grille frame. Using an Exacto knife, trim the excess precisely to the frame as neatly and
carefully as possible. You can do this by slicing the excess slat slowly and repeatedly until all of the excess falls
away. Do not try to do this to fast as this will prohibit you from doing a nice job. Slow and sure is the way to
achieve this. Do this to all four sides of the grille. Note: Since the very top of the grille will not be visible this side
will not be covered with a new flat cover however in order to achieve a nice installation you will need to make
sure you trim any excess slat from the frame that may be noticed once you have reinstalled the grille frame.
Tech Tip: In order to trim these areas perfectly you should slice the frame towards the back avoiding brining
your Exacto knife towards the front of the grille. This will insure that you do not scratch the front of the grille
frame. Preparation of the front part of the grille will be to accept the four flat grille covers that will be applied
after the grille frame has been reinserted into the Camaro bumper.

3. The next step will be to prepare the rear of the grille to accept the actual shark tooth section.

You will notice that the rear side of the factory grille frame contains some flat areas that will line up with the flat
tabs of the new grille section. It will be these areas that we will prepare the shark tooth section to adhere to.
First scuff these areas thoroughly with the abrasive pad provided in your kit and then scrub these areas with
alcohol to remove any loose particles. Then swipe these areas with the adhesive promoter supplied in the kit.
This chemical is not a cleaner but an adhesive accelerator and must be used to insure a long lasting bond for
your new grille.

4. Before you stick anything, align the new shark tooth section with the frame and force the tabs of the new

section to match the plastic frame. You will notice that these tabs will have 3M attachment tape adhered to
them and it is this attachment tape that will bond the new section to the frame. Take a moment to make sure
that each of these tabs matches the plastic frame perfectly. This will insure a nice long term bond and
contribute to the overall success of the installation. When you are ready peel the red release liner from the
attachment tape and attach the grille to the plastic frame exercise extreme caution and precision. Press firmly
along the tabs to insure a nice bond. At this point you should have a completed grille assembly. The grille should
feel stable and well bonded together. Before you prepare to install the newly assembled grille you will need to
permanently remove the two tabs extruding towards the back of the grille assembly. These two tabs will make
the reinstallation of the grille very difficult and they are not necessary so snip them off the grille frame.
