2: Installing the Spectrometer

Hardware Installation
Before use the spectrometer must be installed in a measurement setup with the other devices. In
addition to the spectrometer (connected to a computer running SpectraSuite) you need the following
components:
 2 fiber optic cables
 Sample holder or probes
 Fiber-coupled lamp (Halogen, preferably 20 W)
The figure below shows a typical transmission set-up. Yours may differ depending on what you are
measuring and the type of measurement being taken.
