Wake for Wi-Fi network access
In the Power Adapter tab, enable the "Wake for Wi-Fi network access" option by selecting
the option checkbox.
Soundcraft Vi Series consoles require "Wake for Wi-Fi network access" to be enabled on
Mac OS X in order to prevent losing the communication link between the Mac running
Realtime Rack and the Soundcraft Vi console if/when the Mac enters Sleep mode.

Important:

If this setting is disabled and the computer enters System Sleep (ei-

ther intentionally or unintentionally), the Mac will require system restart or a dis-
connect/reconnect of the Thunderbolt cable to recover after waking from sleep.

Power Adapter Tab
The Energy Saver panel has "Battery" and "Power Adapter" tabs for setting different Sleep
settings when the computer is running on the power adapter versus running on internal
battery power.
Realtime Rack is fully qualified only when the Mac is connected to a power source.
However, it is important to ensure that Sleep is deactivated (as described above) in the
Battery tab in the event of an accidental power disconnect.

Important:

Realtime Rack is qualified when the computer is running on AC power,

and using Realtime Rack with battery power is not a supported configuration.
When using a portable notebook computer such as a MacBook Pro or MacBook
Air, use the included power adapter for optimum results.

Battery Tab
In the Battery Tab, set computer sleep to "Never" by dragging the slider to the far right
position.

Note: Although battery operation is not supported with Realtime Rack, make this
setting in the battery tab in case the power adapter is inadvertently disconnected.

Operating system configuration is complete. Proceed to

Realtime Rack Software Configu-

ration on page 37
