5.1 Operating Systems
You should always use the latest operating system and updates when using new
hardware to ensure full compliancy. You may use any version of Windows 98, but
for Windows 95, you must use OSR 2.0 or later. For Windows NT 4.0, you must use
Service Pack 3.0 or later.
5.1.1 Windows 98 First Time Installation
When you start Windows for the first time after the installation of your mother-
board, Windows 98 will detect the onboard audio chip and may attempt to install a
driver from its system registry. When prompted to restart, select No and then follow
the normal setup procedures later in this section.
