5.3.4 IDE Configuration

The items in this menu allow you to set or change the configurations for

the IDE devices installed in the system. Select an item then press <Enter>

if you want to configure the item.

When in AHCI/RAID

mode, SATA controller

PIO Mode [Auto]

Selects the PIO mode.

DMA Mode [Auto]

Selects the DMA mode. Configuration options: [Auto] [SWDMA0]

SMART Monitoring [Auto]

Sets the Smart Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology.

Configuration options: [Auto] [Disabled] [Enabled]

32Bit Data Transfer [Enabled]

Enables or disables 32-bit data transfer.

Configuration options: [Disabled] [Enabled]

SATA Configuration [Enhanced]

Configuration options: [Compatible] [Enhanced] [Disabled]

Configure SATA as [IDE]

Configuration options: [IDE] [AHCI]

Hard Disk Write Protect [Disabled]

Allows you to enable to disable the hard disk write protection. This will be

effective only if device is accessed through BIOS. Configuration options:

[Disabled] [Enabled]
IDE Detect Time Out [35]

Selects the time out value for detecting ATA/ATAPI devices.

Configuration options: [0] [5] [10] [15] [20] [25] [30] [35]
