FOX AEX 108 • Setup Guide
This guide provides instructions for an experienced installer to set up and operate the
Extron FOX AEX 108 fiber audio extractor. The FOX AEX 108 can be installed on the output
side of a fiber matrix providing up to 8 audio extraction points.
NOTE: The FOX AEX 108 is compatible with all Extron FOX products except
for FOX 3G HD-SDI transmitter and receiver products.
Transmission of HDMI video with HDCP content requires two fibers.
Installation
Step 1 — Mounting
Turn off or disconnect all equipment power sources and mount the extractor as required.
Step 2 — Input and Output Connections
a.
Connect the fiber output (OUT) of the matrix to the Rx port of an extraction point on
the FOX AEX 108.
b.
Connect the Tx port of the same extraction point to the FOX receiver (Rx).
c.
Connect the Tx port of the FOX receiver to the Rx port of the matrix for optional
bidirectional RS-232 communication.
d.
Insert a 3.5 mm, 5-pole captive screw audio connector into the audio connector of the
extraction point on the FOX AEX 108.
Do not tin the wires!

Step 3 — Power
Plug a standard IEC power cord into the connector to connect the FOX AEX 108 to a 120 V
or 240 VAC, 50 or 60 Hz power source. All LEDs will blink together once for a multimode
model and twice for a singlemode model.

FOX AEX 108 • Setup Guide
This guide provides instructions for an experienced installer to set up and operate the

FOX AEX 108 fiber audio extractor. The FOX AEX 108 can be installed on the output

Installation

a.

b.
Connect the Tx port of the same extraction point to the FOX receiver (Rx).

Connect the Tx port of the FOX receiver to the Rx port of the matrix for optional
