Overview
This guide provides instructions for an experienced installer to mount and install the Extron TLP 1000MV TouchLink ™ panel
in a standard 19 inch equipment rack, with 5U of vertical space. For complete instructions about installing and calibrating
the TouchLink panel, see the TLP 1000MV and TLP 1000TV User Guide, which is available on the Extron website
(
www.extron.com ).
Preparing and Installing the RM 1000M Mounting Kit
To mount the TLP 1000MV in any standard 19 inch equipment rack, follow these instructions:
1. If necessary, disconnect any cables that are attached to the TouchLink panel.
2. Run cables to the rack. Provide some slack in the cable for installing the TLP 1000MV
3. Secure the RM rack mount plate to the rack using the rack mount screws provided by the manufacturer of the rack.
Mounting the TLP 1000MV
1. Remove the faceplate from the TLP 1000MV and ensure that all the locking arms are flush with the unit.
2. Push the TouchLink panel through the opening in the RM 1000M.
3. You may secure the TLP 1000MV to the RM 1000M using the locking arms

Tighten the five screws
for the locking arms
(three on the top and
two on the bottom of
the TLP 1000MV). As
the screws tighten, the
locking arms rotate and
clamp against the back of
the RM 1000M, holding
the TouchLink panel in
place. Do not overtighten
the screws.
OR
Ö
Use four mounting
screws (#6-32 x 0.375")
to secure the TouchLink
panel to the nut inserts
in the RM 1000M. Do not
overtighten the screws.
4. Connect the cables to the
back of the TLP 1000MV. If
necessary, carry out an initial
calibration of the TouchLink
panel, and replace the
faceplate. For complete instructions about cabling and calibration, see the TLP 1000MV and TLP 1000TV User Guide.
Tighten screws to
rotate locking arms.
Secure RM 1000M
to Rack
Screws (provided
by rack manufacturer)
Faceplate Snaps to Unit
(4 plcs. ea. side)
RM 1000M
Secure unit with
mounting screws (4).
