Deadman Controls

The Cla-Val Models X130A and X134H Deadman
Controls are manually operated, and hand held for
remote operation of pressure activated valves or other
equipment. They are both spring loaded normally
closed, supplying pressure only when they are manual-
ly activated by squeezing the lever. There are connec-
tions for two hoses. One connection is for incoming
supply pressure and the other is for the pressure output.
The direction of flow through the Deadman Control is
clearly marked on the side.

MODEL

X130A Pneumatic three-way valve

X134H Hydraulic two-way valve

The Model X130A Deadman Control is designed for use
with compressed air. It utilizes a three-way air valve which
is spring loaded to be normally closed. When the Model
X130A is activated, the valve shifts connecting the supply
hose to the outlet hose. When the lever is released, the
Model X130A closes the supply hose and vents the pres-
sure from the outlet hose to atmosphere. The Model X130A
has a large vent port to discharge air rapidly.

The Model X134H Deadman Control is designed for use
with aviation fuel. It utilizes a two-way valve with a balanced
piston which is spring loaded to be normally closed. When
the Model X134H is activated, the valve connects the sup-
ply hose to the outlet hose. When the lever is released, the
Model X134H closes off the supply hose. The X134H
Deadman Control maintains pressure in the outlet hose
when the Deadman Control is closed.
