Non-Destructive Evaluation
The figures below indicate the critical areas of the tong handle and jaw. A critical area is
defined as an area in which no unrepaired crack indications are permitted and in which no
major weld repairs are permitted. There are no critical areas on the bar hanger. Weld repairs
are only permitted on the handle, jaw, and bar hanger.
