Hipot Tester
KEY SAFETY FEATURES
• RECESSED, LOCKING HIGH
VOLTAGE CONNECTION —
Minimizes user accessibility to high
voltage. Also prevents the output lead
from being removed from the high
voltage outlet.
• INTERLOCK PROVISION — Allows
easy installation of any type of safety
switch into the control circuitry.
Breaking circuit will disable the high
voltage output.
• OVER CURRENT PROTECTION with
Manual Reset — Protects the test
object from excess current levels by
rapidly shutting down the high voltage.
The overload sensitivity is continuously
adjustable to handle various test loads.
• GRAVITY OPERATED SOLENOID —
Discharges the object under test when
a failure occurs in the object or when
the power is turned off.
• AUDIBLE/VISUAL ALARMS — The
audible and visual alarms provide a
clear indication of an overload situation
or a go/no-go failure.
• GUARD CIRCUIT — Allows user to
bypass unwanted stray leakage
currents from being detected by the
current meter.
• OUTPUT CONNECTED VOLTMETER
— Ensures accurate voltage measure-
ment regardless of output loading.

DESCRIPTION
The 300 Series AC/DC Hipot and
Megohmmeter is an accurate bench type
instrument designed to perform insulation
tests on all types of electrical system
components, assemblies and apparatus.
They are designed for ac dielectric tests,
dc dielectric tests and insulation resis-
tance measurements with direct
megohmmeter readings at 500 V dc
output. These testers are popular in the
laboratory envionment due to the highly
sensitive DC current meter and easily
accessible front panel controls. They are
also popular in production applications
due to the rugged construction and ease
of use.
