How do I assemble stack valve assemlies?

Inlet/Outlet Section:
First, make sure that the machined mounting surfaces of the sections, thin shim washers and o-rings are clean of
contaminates. Next, install 9/16” [14.3mm] nuts to the tie rods, slide nut/tie rod assembly through (3) split washers and
mounting bracket. Follow this by installing three (3) tie rods into the mating holes in the Inlet/Outlet valve section with
mounting brackets on bottom and feet facing outward. At this point, the washers, mounting brackets and nuts on the tie rods
should be facing away from the flat, machined surface on the Inlet/Outlet section.

Center Work Sections:
Now, add the first Work section of your stack valve. Begin by installing three (3) thin shim washers, which came with the
work section, on to the tie rods. Slide these shims all the way up against the machined side of the Inlet/Outlet section. Next,
make sure that work section o-rings are clean and free of contamination and installed into the work section. Finally, slide the
entire work section with the o-rings facing the machined side of the Inlet/Outlet section all the way down the tie rods. Repeat
for the remaining center work sections.

End Work Section:
Finally, install the end work section following the same procedure as the center work sections. Install the remaining
mounting bracket, split washers, and nuts, then hand tighten 9/16” [14.3mm] nuts.

Finish assembling the valve by tightening the tie rod nuts to the correct toque setting: see “What is the correct torque for the
tie rod nuts?” previous page. Be sure the mounting feet are flat against the table while the nuts are tightened to the torque
setting.
