Exhaust Hanger Bracket

1. Remove nut holding rubber isolator to exhaust bracket (17mm wrench). On vehicles with dual exhaust repeat process on both sides.
2.

Remove exhaust mounting bracket from vehicle frame. Replacement bracket is provided and will be installed later. Return factory exhaust
brackets to vehicle owner.

3.

Use pull wires to feed the carriage bolts and blocks into frame rails though access holes as shown. Leave pull wires attached. Note: It is
much easier if bolt and spacer are not engaged while inserting them into frame, refer to illustration.

Tighten all M10 CL9.8 fasteners with torque wrench to 53 Lb.-Ft (72 N*M)

Feed the pull wires through the slot on the hitch brackets.

5.

Install 3/8-16 x 2” carriage bolt (Item 6) thru square hole in bracket. As shown.

Raise hitch into position, aligning holes in hitch with the existing weldnuts in vehicle frame rails. Attach hanger brackets. Install fasteners
(Item 1) as shown.

7.

Remove pull wires and attach (Item 4 & 5) (be careful not to push fastener back into frame rail).

8.

Torque all fasteners (Items 1 – 5) to specifications shown below

9.

Slide rubber hanger onto 3/8” carriage bolt and secure with flanged locknut. Tighten nut against rubber hanger allowing hanger to rotate –
DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.

Tighten all 3/8 GR5 fasteners with torque wrench to 31 Lb.-Ft (41 N*M)

Tighten all 7/16 GR5 fasteners with torque wrench to 50 Lb.-Ft (68 N*M)

Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to

prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working

beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
