Hitch Shown In Proper Position

Wiring Access Location: SUV3, SUV4

Equipment Required:

Wrenches: 10mm, 13mm, 14mm, & 17mm

Drill Bits: NONE

1.

Remove driver’s and passenger’s side tie-down brackets (if equipped). Return brackets and fasteners to vehicle owner.

2.

Remove the (3) fasteners holding the heat shield from the vehicle (muffler does not need to be removed).

3.

Trim the heat shield (figure 1) as shown. After trimming reattach heat shield.

4.

Raise the hitch into position and install fasteners as shown above into existing weld-nuts. Hand tighten only.

5.

Center the hitch receiver on vehicle and torque all fasteners to specification shown below.

Conical tooth washers

Tighten all M10 CL8.8 fasteners with torque wrench to 38 Lb.-Ft (52 N*M).

Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body
panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety
precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C.
Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
