1. Open the tailgate and remove the vehicle’s
taillight assemblies by removing the two 10mm
hex head bolts on each side. Carefully pry the
housings away from the vehicle, being careful
not to break the alignment tabs
d & e .
2. With the vehicle wiring and grommets exposed,
slit the grommet on the driver’s side with a utility
knife from the hole where the vehicle wiring
passes through the grommet to the outside
edge. Unwrap the tape around the grommet
tabs, or cut the tabs off the grommet that hold
it to the wires
f .
3. With grommet pulled away from vehicle, on the
Driver’s side, locate the 2-pin housing. Plug the
mating T-Connector end to this plug and route
remaining wires through the grommet

4. Slide the red locking tab on the vehicle
harness connectors to the unlocked position
and disconnect the wire harness from both
taillight sockets. Plug the T-Connector
containing the yellow wire in-between the
mating plug on the Driver’s side taillight
socket and vehicle wiring harness

5. On the Driver’s side, route the T-Connector end
with green wire, the 4-flat end out through the
hole between the vehicle bumper and body
h .
Route the T-Connector end with green wire
to the passenger’s side and route the 4-flat
underneath the bumper. Route T-Connector
end with green wire up through the opening on
the passenger side, being careful to avoid areas
that could damage wiring. Repeat step 5 with
T-Connector containing the green wire.
Optional Routing of Wire
A. Using a trim panel tool, carefully pry the
threshold plate away from the vehicle, being
careful not to damage any clips. In the
threshold plate area, remove the clips on
each the driver’s and passenger’s side to
gain access behind trim panels

B. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the tie
down loops on each side of the vehicle i .
C. Being careful not to damage clips,partially
remove the lower interior trim panels on
each side of the vehicle
k .
D. Route wire inside vehicle through each
interior trim panel and route the T-Connector
containing the green down the threshold
plate up and through the passenger side
trim panel out through the grommet. Follow
Steps 3 through 6 for connections.
6. Push all of the existing vehicle wiring back
into the grommet hole and seat the grommet
back into the hole and tuck the remainder of
wiring in-between the bumper fascia or under
the bumper.
NOTICE
Leave only the housing plugging into the
taillight assembly outside of the grommet
l .
7. Secure all loose wiring and clean a flat
area near the black box using a mixture of
rubbing alcohol and water. Mount the black
box to the clean area using the double-sided
tape provided.
8. Replace any trim panels or air baffles
removed during installation. Reinstall the
taillight housings, positioning the wire harness
between the housing and the vehicle body.
Secure the remainder of the T-Connector
harness under the bumper with cable ties
provided, being careful to avoid any areas
that would cut or pinch the wire.

9. 2004-2006 MODELS ONLY
Open vehicle hood, and locate the fuse
box on the driver side near the front on
the vehicle
m . Unlatch the fuse door to
access the fuse area. Locate position
number 10 labeled Trailer Tow / Spare
B3-5
n . Insert the 20 amp fuse included
with the T-Connector package in this
position and latch the fuse box.
NOTE
2007-CURRENT MODELS
Battery tow fuse is factory equipped.
It is located at position number 11 labeled
Headlight Washer / Power Liftgate.
WARNING
All connections must be complete for the
T-Connector to function properly. Test and
verify installation with a test light or trailer
once installed.
WARNING
Overloading circuit can cause fires. DO NOT
exceed lower of towing manufacturer rating or:
• Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps)
• Max. tail lights: (4.2 amps)
