4. Locate a suitable grounding point near the
connector such as an existing ground stud
or drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white
wire using the eyelet and screw provided.
(Do not drill into vehicle floor or bed.)
Clean dirt and rustproofing from area.
CAUTION
Verify what is behind any surface prior
to drilling to avoid damage to the vehicle
and/or personal injury. Do not drill into
any exposed surfaces.
5. Reinstall the plastic trim panels, threshold,
storage covers, floor covering and other
items removed during installation, being
careful not to pinch or cut the wires.
WARNING
All connections must be complete for the
T-Connector to function properly. Test and
verify installation with a test light or trailer
once installed.
NOTE
Store 4-Flat in trunk/hatch area when
not in use.
WARNING
Overloading circuit can cause fires.
DO NOT exceed lower of towing
manufacturer rating or:
• Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps)
• Max. tail lights: (5 amps)

TOOLS NEEDED
Philips Head Screwdriver ,Trim Panel,
Remover, Drill (3/32” Drill Bit),1/4" socket
1. Open trunk/hatch to locate the vehicle
wiring inside the vehicle's rear cargo area
by partially removing the plastic threshold
cover, side access panels or carpet panels
and cargo trays.

There will be connection points matching
the ends of the T-Connector adapter on the
back of each of the vehicle taillight housings.
Separate this connector, being careful
not to break the locking tabs. All connector
surfaces should be clean and free of dirt.

Make sure to use the vehicle's blue 3-pin
housing NOT the green 3-pin housing.

2. On the driver's side, attach both ends
of the T-Connector containing the
yellow, brown and red wires.
Be careful not to damage the locking
tabs and be sure that connectors are
fully inserted with locking tabs in place.
3. Route the T-Connector containing the
green wire below the threshold cover
to the passenger’s side taillight housing.
Repeat step 2 using the T-Connector
end containing the green wire.
