9. Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
If not removed, remove the fuse from the yellow
fuse holder (provided). After cutting the fuse holder
wire i, attach the ring terminal and secure to the
vehicle’s Positive (+) battery cable. Connect the other
end of the fuse holder to the black 12 ga. wire, using
the yellow butt connector (provided) j.
WARNING
Read and follow all warnings and cautions printed on
the tow vehicle’s battery.
10. Reconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable
and install the 10 amp fuse into the fuse holder
from Step 9.
WARNING
All connections must be complete for the T-Connector
to function properly. Test and verify installation with a
test light or trailer once installed. For initial test, reset
vehicle electrical system by temporarily removing the
key from the ignition.
11. Secure the remainder of the T-Connector harness
with the cable ties provided, to prevent damage or
rattling and being careful to avoid any areas that
would pinch, cut or melt the wire.
12. Reinstall the plastic trim panels, threshold, storage
covers, floor covering and other items removed
during installation, being careful not to pinch or
cut the wires.
WARNING
Overloading circuit can cause fires. DO NOT exceed
lower of towing manufacturer rating or:
• Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps)
• Max. tail lights: (5.6 amps)

TOOLS NEEDED:
Trim Panel Remover, Drill (3/32” Drill Bit),
Wire Crimpers, Wire Cutters, Test-probe,
Phillips Head Screwdriver
1. Open the tailgate to remove the vehicle’s taillight
housing assemblies d. On the driver’s side, inside
the vehicle behind the taillights, remove plastic
cover and pull back insulation liner to access the
plastic wing nut holding the taillight in place e.
Unscrew the plastic wing nut and carefully pry the
vehicle taillight housing assembly away from the
vehicle, being careful not to break the alignment
tabs. Carefully separate the vehicle’s plugs.
Repeat this step for the vehicle’s passenger’s
side taillight assembly.
2. On both the driver’s and passenger’s side, slit the
grommet to allow for the T-Connector’s wiring fg.
Route the T-Connector ends containing the yellow
and the brown wires through the hole and into the
tail lamp pocket and reseat the grommet around the
wires. Leaving the 4-Flat and black convertor box in
the cargo area.
3. Insert the T-Connector end, with the yellow wire,
between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock
into place.
WARNING
All connector surfaces should be clean and free of
dirt. Be careful not to damage the locking tabs and
be sure that connectors are fully inserted with locking
tabs in place.
4. Route the T-Connector containing the green
wire below the threshold cover to the passenger’s
side taillight housing. Repeat steps 2 and 3 using
the T-Connector ends containing the green and
red wires.
NOTE
Route the 4-Flat through the driver’s side trim panel
into side storage compartment and store there when
not in use.
WARNING
Be careful not to pinch harness in trunk latch.
5. On driver’s side, locate a flat surface in a out of
the way place and mount the T-Connector’s black
convertor box with the double sided tape.
6. Locate a suitable grounding point. Drill a 3/32” hole
and secure the white wire using the eyelet and screw
provided. Do not drill into any exposed surfaces.
CAUTION
Verify what is behind any surface prior to drilling to
avoid damage to the vehicle and/ or personal injury.

7. On the driver’s side, locate the red 12 ga. Power wire
from the T-Connector box. Attach the black 12 ga.
wire provided.
8. Either route the black wire thru a grommet and along
the exterior frame or follow the existing wiring along
the thresholds into the engine compartment up to
the battery avoiding areas that may pinch or break
the wire h.
WARNING
If routing the wire thru a grommet and along the
exterior of the vehicle, be careful to avoid any hot
pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank or any other points
that may pinch or break the wire.
