TOOLS REQUIRED:
Trim Panel Remover, 1/4” Socket & Ratchet or 1/4”
Wrench, Drill (3/32” Drill Bit), Philips Head
Screwdriver, Test-probe
1. Open rear hatch and push forward the rear seat.
Inside the vehicle’s rear cargo area, temporarily
remove all floor coverings, cargo trays and plastic
threshold cover
dgh . Partially remove the rear
interior trim panels on both the driver and
passenger side of the vehicle. Several trim panel
fasteners will need to be removed to remove the
panels
e . Set aside all items removed being
careful not to damage parts.
SANTA FE ONLY
You will need to remove the tie down loop and
remove several trim panel fasteners to remove
the panels

2. On the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle,
locate the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness
fj .
It will have a connection point matching the
T-Connector harness. On the driver’s side, insert
the T-Connector end, with the yellow wire,
between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock
into place. Be careful not to damage the locking
tabs and be sure that connectors are fully inserted
with locking tabs in place.
3. Route the T-Connector end with green wire to the
passenger ‘s side behind the panels and along the
threshold. Repeat step 2 for T-Connector end with
the green wire.
4. Locate a suitable grounding point near the
connector such as the vehicle’s frame or cross
member. (Do not drill into vehicle floor or bed.
Do not drill into any exposed surfaces.)
Clean dirt and rustproofing from area. Drill a 3/32”
hole and secure white wire using eyelet and
screw provided.
CAUTION
Verify what is behind any surface prior to drilling
to avoid damage to the vehicle and/or personal
injury. Do not drill into any exposed surfaces.
5. Locate a suitable mounting location inside rear
quarter panel on driver side, and clean area with
50/50 water/alcohol solution where the converter
will be mounted.
6. Route the 4-Flat from below the driver’s side trim
panel into rear storage compartment.
NOTE
Store 4-Flat in truck or rear cargo area
when not in use.
SANTA FE ONLY
It may be necessary to cut a slit or notch
in the storage tray to allow the 4-Flat in the
compartment

7. Reinstall the plastic trim panels, threshold, storage
covers, floor covering and other items removed
during installation, being careful not to pinch or
cut the wires.
WARNING
All connections must be complete for the
T-Connector to function properly. Test and verify
installation with a test light or trailer once installed.
WARNING
Overloading circuit can cause fires. DO NOT
exceed lower of towing manufacturer rating or:
• Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps)
• Max. tail lights: (7.5 amps)
