TOOLS REQUIRED:

Trim Panel Remover, 10mm Socket & Ratchet

or 10mm Wrench, Drill (3/32” Drill Bit), 1/4”

socket, Wire Crimpers, Wire Cutters, Philips Head

Screwdriver, Test-probe

1. Open trunk/hatch

to locate the vehicle wiring

inside the vehicle’s rear cargo area by partially

removing the plastic threshold cover, side access

panels or carpet panels and cargo trays

2. On the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle,

locate the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness. The

taillight wiring harness will have a connection

point, on both sides, matching the ends of

the T-Connector

. Separate this connector,

being careful not to break the locking tabs. All

connector surfaces should be clean and free of

dirt.

3. On the passenger side, insert the T-Connector

end with the green wire between the vehicle

wiring connectors and lock into place. Route

the T-Connector end with the yellow wire to the

driver’s side behind the panels and along the

threshold

. Repeat step 3 for T-Connector end

with the yellow wire.

4. On the passenger side locate a suitable

grounding point near the connector.

Option 1:

Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area. Drill

a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using

the eyelet and screw provided. (Do not drill into

vehicle floor or bed. Do not drill into any exposed

surfaces.)

Option 2:

Locate existing ground stud. Loosen bolt, place

screw eyelet on stud and re-tighten bolt.

CAUTIOn

Verify what is behind any surface prior to drilling

to avoid damage to the vehicle and/or personal

injury. Do not drill into any exposed surfaces.

5. Use only with 12V Battery Systems.

WARnInG

Read and follow all warnings and cautions

printed on the tow vehicle’s battery.

Locate the vehicle’s 12 Volt Battery inside the

cargo area on the passenger side, underneath the

floor covering in the rear corner

. Disconnect

and isolate the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery

terminal

6. Attach the fuse holder (with fuse removed) to the

positive (+) terminal of the battery

. Reconnect

the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable and install

the 10 amp fuse into the fuse holder from step 5.

See tow vehicle’s owners manual for any special

battery reconnection instructions.

WARnInG

All connections must be complete for the

T-Connector to function properly. Test and

verify installation with a test light or trailer once

installed. For initial test, reset vehicle electrical

system by temporarily removing the key from the

ignition.

7. On the passenger’s side, mount the T-Connector

black box using the double-sided tape provided.

Secure the remainder of the T-Connector harness

with the cable ties provided, to prevent damage or

rattling and being careful to avoid any areas that

would cut or pinch the wire.

8. Reinstall the plastic trim panels, threshold,

storage covers, floor covering and other items

removed during installation, being careful not to

pinch or cut the wires.

nOTE

Store 4-Flat connector in spare tire compartment

when not in use.

WARnInG

Overloading circuit can cause fires. DO NOT

exceed lower of vehicle manufacturer rating or:

• Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps)

• Max. tail lights: (5.6 amps)
