3 COMMISSIONING A KONTI-DOS SYSTEM

Recommendation

Have the installation and the initial commissioning carried out by a konti-Dos system dealer.

3.1 Eleven steps for commissioning

1) Connect the pipes for the measurement and injection of the active product into the
water

circuit.

Size of the connectors at both extremities: ½“
Remove the mechanical constraints from the pipe connectors.

2) If necessary, connect the cable delivering flow impulses.

If this option is used, connect the cable transmitting the flow impulses (grey cable) to the
upstream impulse inlet of the control unit (for ex. an automatic animal feeding unit). If the
option is not used, the impulse outlet is not connected.

3) Connect the control unit to the 230V mains electricity (network connector into the
mains

socket).

Attention : Secure the plug using a
fault current circuit-breaker.

4) Set the water pressure to the
recommended

value.

The authorised water pressure is
indicated on the appliance certificate
or in the konti-Dos standard versions
table (see paragraph 2.3).
If the water pressure varies, install a
regulator with a suitable DN.

The dosing pumps of certain konti-Dos
versions are calibrated for the following pressures:

konti-Dos x.0 → 3,0 bar;
konti-Dos x.1 → 3,5 bar;
konti-Dos x.2 → 2,0 bar.

If the pressure varies by more than de ± 0.5 bar by reference to the initial pressure, cali-
brate the appliance on site to improve the dosage precision.

5) Set the flow to the recommended value (see the product certificate).

Access the "Water flow" function in the programming menu.

Start the water circulation and then open the manual valve; read the instantaneous value of
the flow on the control unit display. Adjust the flow to the recommended value, using the
manual valve. If the flow display is unstable, set a value slightly lower than Qmax.

If the display flashes, close the valve until the display stops flashing.
