Indicators

When an emergency is initiated from a subscriber, the following indications help to quickly identify the channel and
subscriber:

An Emergency Notification Tool is placed in the Main Toolbar. This tool can be used to respond
to the radio user that initiated the emergency. It is also used to clear the emergency.

A red emergency icon

is visible in the Subscribers Window, next to the subscriber who

initiated the emergency.

An audio alarm signal is activated.

Operation

The following actions can be used to acknowledge an emergency condition by clicking on the emergency tool being
displayed in the Toolbar:

PTT – The top portion of the Emergency Notification Tool in the Toolbar of the Main Window
can be used as a PTT to return a private call to the radio user that initiated the emergency.
Clicking on this button will silence the audio alarm signal for this emergency, and then place a
private call to the radio that initiated the emergency.

Options – The bottom portion of the Emergency Notification Tool can be used to either
Remove the visual and audio indicators for this emergency, or display the GPS Map
window with the subscriber centered in the display.

Clearing an Emergency State of a Control Station Radio

The method recommended by Motorola for clearing the emergency state of the control station radio is
to restart the radio. This is accomplished by using the following steps:

menu, choose

2. Right-click the radio where the emergency state must be cleared, and then choose

Restart Radio
