Microphone Choices

M140 - A cardioid (directional) microphone for lavaliere

(“lapel”) use. Due to the directional pickup pattern,

this model will generally provide more gain (loudness)

before feedback than the M119 omni-directional model.

The M140 has a “brighter” sound than the M119 (the

treble is boosted). This crisper sound normally im

proves the clarity that is sometimes lost with lavaliere

type microphones. The M140 is subject to wind noise

and generally works best indoors, however it is supplied

with a foam windscreen which helps to prevent noise

caused by wind.

HM162 - A “over the ears” noise cancelling microphone

that uses a dual-element design to minimize feedback

when the microphone is close to the speaker.
Other brands of microphones may be used, provided

they are the correct type, with an appropriate connec

tor. Consult the factory or your dealer if you are not

sure. A mis-matched microphone will generally cause

background noise (hiss) or feedback problems, or may

not work at all.
