ADJUSTABLE AND NON ADJUSTABLE TOE LINKS

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

2010 CAMARO PART NO. 20141 & 20142

FORM 97149883 04/10

Thank you for your purchase. Installation of Lakewood
Industries’ toe links will improve stability during braking and high
load conditions. Additionally, adjustable toe links increase the
available amount of adjustment over the O.E. toe adjustment to
compensate for vehicles lowered with adjustable coil over
shocks.

CAUTION: INSTALLATION OF THIS PRODUCT REQUIRES WORKING
UNDER THE VEHICLE. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE INSTALLER TO
ENSURE A SAFE WORKING ENVIRONMENT. THE USE OF AN AUTOMOTIVE
LIFT IS RECOMMENDED. MAKE SURE THAT THE VEHICLE IS SAFELY
SUPPORTED AND ALWAYS USE JACK STANDS. ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY
GLASSES.

WARNING: DUE TO THE TECHNICAL NATURE OF THIS PRODUCT, AND
SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT, PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION IS RECOMMENDED.

For technical assistance, please call 216-688-8300 Monday
through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM EST.

1. Safely raise and secure the vehicle. Removal of some O.E.

hardware may require the ability to compress the rear suspension.

2. Detach the clips retaining the vehicle speed sensor wire to the

O.E. toe link.

3. Remove the bolt securing the O.E. toe link to the hub carrier

assembly. Work on one side at a time. Remove bolt securing
the O.E. toe link to the frame mount, and remove the O.E. link
from the vehicle. Mark the location of the eccentric washer
prior to removal of the assembly, see figure 1.

4. For adjustable models only, use light oil on the threads, adjust

the length of the Lakewood toe link by rotating the ends into
the center hex nut. Use the center to center distance of the OE
toe link as a starting point. Once the desired length is set,
tighten the jam nuts.

CAUTION: EACH THREADED END MUST BE ENGAGED A MINIMUM OF 5
TURNS INTO THE CENTER HEX NUT.

5. Reuse the factory mounting hardware to install the Lakewood

toe link in the original position. Be sure to position the eccentric
washer as marked from step 3.

6. Secure the vehicle speed sensor wire using a wire tie.

7. Tighten the hardware with suspension compressed and the

vehicle at ride height.

8. Using SAE automotive suspension grease, apply grease via

the supplied fittings on each end of the toe link.

Important note for adjustable toe links. Toe settings can dramatically
alter vehicle handling characteristics as well as tire wear.
Increasing toe-in can help improve vehicle stability at high
speeds and reduce a tendency to over steer during hard cornering.
Toe out will improve vehicle turn in, giving a more responsive feel,
as well as a reduced tendency to under steer during hard corning.
Due to the precise nature of alignment settings, changes should
only be made by certified technicians using the appropriate
equipment. These adjustments are recommended to be used by
experienced professionals during closed course competition.
Please observe all traffic laws.
