GENERAL INFORMATION

Mr. Gasket high-performance thermostats are designed

to resist large variations in coolant pressures that can

occur at high RPMs. Under these conditions, coolant

temperature and pressure fight for control of the thermo-

stat, keeping it from opening at its designed tempera-

ture. These high-performance thermostats open at the

right temperature regardless of engine RPM.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Step 1

Drain the cooling system.

Step 2

Remove the thermostat housing, thermostat and gasket.

Step 3

Clean gasket mounting surfaces thoroughly.

Step 4

Insert the thermostat into recessed groove of intake man-

ifold.

NOTE: Insert with cone end towards radiator.

Step 5

Install new gasket.

NOTE: Gasket sealer is recom-

mended to prevent coolant leakage.

Step 6

Re-install thermostat housing and tighten mounting

bolts.

Step 7

Fill the cooling system to proper level and start the en-

gine, leaving the pressure cap off. Once the engine has

reached normal operating temperature, re-check coolant

level.

NOTE: Check all connections for coolant leaks.
