Installation
I NSTALLATION :
Prior to installing the flow meter,
determine that the gears turn freely
by rotating them through the con-
nection ports by means of plastic or
fiber rod (do not use a steel rod to
rotate gears due to hazards of
scratching the sealing surface).
Make sure that adequate filtration
exists upstream of the flow meter
and that no contaminants exist in
the line between the filter and flow
meter.
It is recommended that the flow
meter be connected to the circuit by
means of unions close to the flow
meter to allow easy removal for
maintenance.
A by-pass valve should be installed
between the inlet and outlet ports of
the flow meter to allow flow
through the system in the event that
the flow meter should become
blocked by foreign material.
For the best low flow accuracy, the
flow meter should be mounted with
the transmitter tube in a horizontal
position like the drawing indicates.

information on adjustment and uti-
lization of the flow signal. See also
manuals on any readout instrument
purchased with the flow meter.
