TRACEABLE® HYGROMETER INSTRUCTIONS

OPERATION

MEASURING MODE
This is the basic function to measure temperature (

o

F or

o

C) and relative humid-

ity. Press the ON key (1, Fig. 1) to start the measurement.

SLEEP MODE OPTION
1. The unit has a non-sleep mode and a 20 minute sleep mode.
2. To deactivate the sleep mode, turn off the meter (2, Fig. 1), and then press

“ON” (1, Fig. 1) and “MN/MX” (5, Fig. 1) keys simultaneously, until “nSL” is
displayed.

MN/MX MODE
Read minimum and maximum values by pressing MN/MX key (5, Fig. 1)
sequentially. Press it again to return to normal mode. The meter will automati-
cally return to normal mode in 10 seconds.

HOLD MODE
Press the HOLD key (6, Fig. 1) once to hold the current measurement. The
screen will display “HOLD”. Press HOLD again to return to normal mode.

COMPUTER OUTPUT
1. Plug the earphone jack of the cable into the computer port socket on the

meter and connect 9-pin D-sub to the computer’s COM1 or COM2.

2. Press “ON” key (1, Fig. 1) to start the measurement.

ERROR MESSAGES
1. If the display shows “OP” and the unit continually beeps, then the probe is

not connected properly.

2. If display shows 0% or 99% for an extended period of time, then probe is

damaged and needs to be replaced.

3. If the display shows Er 1, Er 3 or Er 4 with a beep, then there has been a

circuit error.

4. If the display shows Er 2 with a beep, then there has been improper calibra-

tion, the probe is damaged, or the humidity reference needs to be changed.

ALL OPERATIONAL DIFFICULTIES
If this Hygrometer does not function properly for any reason, please replace
the battery with a new Cat. No. 1112 battery. Low battery power can oc-
casionally cause any number of “apparent” operational diffi culties. Replacing
the battery with a new fresh battery will solve most diffi culties.
