Tighten all M12 CL 10.9 fasteners with torque wrench to 76 Lb.-Ft. (103 N*M)

Tighten all M8 CL 10.9 fasteners with torque wrench to 20 Lb.-Ft. (27 N*M)

Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to
prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working
beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5
and SAE J684.

1.

Remove appearance panel ((8 fasteners)10mm socket) which covers the trunk pan. Remove the (3) plastic rivets that fasten the appearance

panel to the vehicle. Note: Remove the center of the rivet with a small screwdriver. Final plastic rivet is located behind the wheel well liner.
See photo. Apply slight pressure while using a large screwdriver to remove the final attachment of the appearance panel.

2.

Appearance panel to be reinstalled after trimming.

3.

Remove the plastic plug in the frame rails, and tie downs (if present on both frame rails). Return to owner with fasteners.

4.

Remove the ((2-M8) 12mm socket) bolts holding the exhaust hanger in place. Retain bolt for reinstallation.

5.

Raise hitch over the exhaust and into position.

6.

Install M12 bolts and conical washer as shown. Hand tighten. Check to assure hitch is centered on vehicle.

7.

Torque all fasteners to specifications.

8.

Attach the exhaust hanger to the bracket of the hitch as shown, with the existing M8 bolts and new conical washers and nut from fastener
kit. Torque all fasteners to specifications.

9.

Trim appearance panel (2 places) as shown. Obtain vehicle owner’s approval before cutting appearance panel.

10.

Reinstall appearance panel. Note: slide rear of panel in place first for ease of installation.
