3.0 Pre-operational Procedures

3.1

General Information

3.1.1

When the RH trolley hoist is incorporated into lifting systems utilizing other equipment, follow and
complete all pre-operational procedures and instructions provided with the equipment. Special
wiring considerations must also be taken to complete the integration of the RH trolley hoist into
the system.

3.1.2

The RH is generally delivered pre-assembled and shrink-wrapped on a pallet or in a wooden crate (see
Figure 3-1). During shipment and storage prior to installation, the trolley hoist should be kept between
–4

° and +140°F (-20° and +60°C) and the relative humidity must not exceed 80%. The standard

packaging is not watertight and rainproof.

3.1.3

The RH trolley hoist is shipped pre-lubricated and the gear box(s) are filled with the correct amount and
type of oil. Follow the lubrication requirements in Section 6.1 after the trolley hoist is placed into
service.

3.2

Handling

3.2.1

Transportation – Move the trolley hoist utilizing a fork lift, pallet jack or hoist/crane system. Do NOT
place the trolley hoist on its side (see Figure 3-2). Do NOT stack or place anything on top of the trolley
hoist or crate. Avoid swinging and unbalanced conditions (see Figure 3-3).
