PERIODIC Inspection – visual inspection by a designated person with intervals per the following criteria:

2) Determined by a qualified person and based

on such factors as expected rope life as
determined by experience on the particular or

Inspections need not be at equal calendar
intervals and should be more frequent as the
rope approaches the end of its useful life.

5.3

Frequent Inspection

5.3.1

Inspections should be made on a FREQUENT basis in accordance with

Table 5-3

, “Frequent Inspection.”

Included in these FREQUENT Inspections are observations made during operation for any defects or damage
that might appear between Periodic Inspections. A designated person shall evaluate and resolve the results of
FREQUENT Inspections such that the hoist/trolley is maintained in safe working condition.

Operation of all limit switches and associated components

Hook latch operation

Wire rope in accordance with
