OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

King Electric’s Instant Alert Monitor is designed to alert the installer if continuity in the heating
wire is broken by cutting the wire or if there is a short circuit between the ground and heating
wires. Connect the Instant Alert Monitor to your Floor Heating Cable or Mat System BEFORE
starting installation and leave it connected until the job is COMPLETE.

PREPARATION
1.
Remove the battery compartment cover on the back of the Instant Alert Monitor. Insert two
(2) AAA size batteries into the compartment. Make sure the batteries are installed in the correct polarity
according to the symbols in the battery compartment.

2.

Replace the battery compartment cover. Switch the unit to the “ON” position to activate Instant Alert

Monitor

3. Since the Instant Alert Monitor is not connected to a mat or Floor Heat Cable system, the alarm should
sound and the red alarm indicator light should be lit. If the red alarm indicator light does not go on, and

connections. Correct the polarity or replace the batteries.
