2. Open the rear door and remove the driver’s side screws holding the taillight housing.
3. Grasp the taillight assembly with one hand and pull gently. NOTE: Be sure to pull straight

out towards the rear of the vehicle to avoid possible damage. This is the same procedure
required to change a burn out taillight bulb in the assembly. For more info see owner’s
manual on replacing burn taillight bulbs.

4. Once you have removed the taillight housing, carefully disconnect the wire harness and

set aside.

5. Attach (1 ea) Double Sided Tape on the back of each Support Bracket (Figure 1).
6. Measure and mark 6 inches from the bottom of the taillight cavity to the center of the

taillight cavity (Figure 2).

7. Attach Support Bracket onto taillight cavity right about the marked location (Figure 3).
8. Re-connect the wire harness and carefully position taillight housing back onto vehicle.
9. Position Taillight Guard onto vehicle. Use the included (2) ST5 x 30mm Sheet Metal

Screws to attach Taillight Guard assembly onto vehicle (Figure 4). Do not tighten at this
time. NOTE: If Mounting Brackets don’t fit properly, they can be adjusted to fit properly
using a pair of pliers. If you’re doing and adjustment, make sure to cover the mounting
tabs on the taillight guard with masking tape to protect the finish.

interfere with rear door. If so, remove Taillight Guard and adjust the Mounting Brackets to
fit properly.

13. Repeat steps 2-12 for passenger side Taillight Guard.
14. Do periodic inspections to the installation to make sure that all hardware is secure and
