Purpose
To add spring tension to an existing aluminum shutter for more efficient operation.
Tools Required
Cordless Drill 1/4” drill bit Kit of Parts
¼” hex head bit Screwdriver Pop Rivet Gun
Directions
(1) Open the Kit of Parts and verify that all parts are present.
See Figure 1.
(2) Remove the shutter from the fan and place the exhaust side
down on a flat level surface. NOTE: The shutter should be fully closed during installation.
! Warning
Before beginning Installation disconnect all
electrical power from the fan.

(3) Locate the four holes in the shutter as shown in Figure 2.
The two top holes are in the left and right Vain Rail Assembly
and are pre-drilled. The two bottom holes are in the left and
right Center Vane Assembly and contain rivets. The two top
holes will hold the “U” Bracket installed in Step 6 and the
bottom two holes will contain the Spring Tensioner installed
in the next step.
